I have just had the experience of co-chairing an exhibit of the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh. I have had many years of art organization volunteering, but I hadn’t done this before. Along with the Guild Exhibition committee, we chose a title for the show, Edge-to-Edge, a juror, Meredith Re Grimsley, and got to work on the Prospectus and the details.
This week we organized drop off of the 38 accepted art work of the 28 artists, and hung the show.
Tomorrow the juror arrives in town and will decide on the (5) awards in person. The catalogs are printed, and will be distributed at the opening tomorrow.
I have a piece in the show, pictured here. But organization of the entire show was just as much a creative experience as actual art making.
