This was a commission piece for a family who is redecorating their library. “Max and Friends” uses favorite books from their children’s youth, like Where the Wild Things Are, Goodnight Moon and others, as well as family treasures like the little dogs and bunnies. I glued the paper images on plywood, and had an artist with a laser cutter cut them out. All of the pieces are sewn onto my background cloth quilt, which has a subtle “S” shape, in reference to the family’s last name. The whole is mounted on linen covered board, with a finished size of 33 x 18″.
