Virtual Hanging

I’ve been having fun with one of the many apps or websites used to “hang” a piece of art on a virtual wall.  It allows the viewer or potential customer to see the size and scale of the work, and get an idea how it would look installed in their home.

I went to the Abundant Artist to start my search. Some were for iPhones only, some for Androids, and some were websites.

I chose ArtPlacer, which is a website.  I prefer to work on my computer when dealing with images. Except for Instagram, which is done on a phone. ArtPlacer keeps the art work’s dimensions, including when placing it at an angle. They have a large library of images (living rooms, blank walls, bedrooms etc.) to choose from, and so far there has always been something that is right for me.

If the work isn’t framed, you can choose a frame from a large selection. It isn’t particularly cheep, coming in at $11 something a month for the lowest price option, after a 7 day free period. But I use it a lot.

Here are some of the results.
