I made this scene once before, but I felt that it needed a large quilt, so I did it again. My husband has been working on the lower meadow on our property for years, clearing out the invasive Autumn Olive, Tree of Heaven and Multiflora Rose which were choking out the native plants. Now goldenrod, milkweed, Joe Pye, Boneset, and many other natives flourish there. This view shows an old apple tree, and the new young ones we’ve planted. They are doing well, alongside the Chestnut trees we planted a few years ago too.
